Kim Kardashian looks heaven sent in busty golden gown at Met Gala (but leaves Kanye West at home)

She embarked on a dramatic cleanse to ensure she looked her very best.

Sewn into a skin-tight Versace dress, embellished with crucifixes, the reality star turned fashion icon walked the red carpet alone.

Husband Kanye West, her usual Met Gala companion, had skipped the party following his much talked about Twitter outbursts this week.

Gone who did not look to have excitement for Kim, who glowed in her golden gown.

The 37-year-old had been sticking to a rigid cleanse in a bid to get her body just looking right for the social calendar's biggest party.

And it showed - with the star star looking her very best in her chainmail gown.

Last week she took to her pay site kimkardashianwest.com to talk about how she was getting ready for the annual gala.

The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star said she was on a cleanse and working out really hard to look her best in a designer gown.

The Selfish author also shared some never-seen-before images from last year's Gala. In the new images the mother of three looks slender in her white off-the-shoulder dress.
