Rihanna teases her bust and thighs as she kneels on the floor in a semi-sheer red dress for edgy photoshoot

Rihanna showed off her grungier style on Tuesday, as she unveiled her four fierce cover shots for Dazed magazine.

And now, the singer, 29, can be seen in the inside shots from the magazine - which continues the slightly macabre theme from her cover shots.

Rihanna shrouds her famous figure in a semi-sheer red dress in one shot, which see her kneeling on the ground, her rear in the air.

She looks back over her shoulder, one hand on her bare thigh, the red gown partly covering her figure but teasing her chest and legs.

Looking considerably moody, the Where Have You Been singer crouches on a black floor, her eye-popping dress standing out in the moody surrounds.

In a close-up, the Umbrella songstress glares down the lens, through some red strands of string, her black curls falling around her face and a jut of red lipstick on her pout.

A third shot sees her reclining on the bonnet of a car, in black, sporting a pair of sparkling earrings and covered in a white sheet.

On the cover, which were teased earlier this week, she wore an eye-catching PVC coat at the shoot, and swapped her usually sleek tresses for a bold mop of curls.

Having carved a career as a singer, actress and designer, Rihanna went on to prove her model prowess at the shoot, as she put on a fierce display for the camera.

Looking worlds away from her usual glamorous self, the singer styled her hair into a tight mop of cropped curls, to emphasise her naturally striking features - accentuated by a glittering sweep of bronzer and dark nude lip.

Sharing the snap to her Instagram page however, Rihanna was quick to poke fun at her new 'do - which she explained had been inspired by one of her old-school idols.

She captioned the shot: 'Me: I want to look like Shirley Temple had dreads' @yusefhairnyc: Say no more.'

Posing for four covers of the 'Nocturnal Activities' edition, Rihanna later posed after dark for a second brooding shot - shielding her famous figure in a chunky high-shine coat, and sexy PVC boots.

Another cover saw her resting in a sweeping of yellow eye shadow, while the last appeared to show her posing make-up free - with both close-ups displaying her enviably clear and glowing complexion to all.

The singer was shot by photographer Harley Weir, and styled by Dazed's creative director Robbie Spencer. 

Rihanna has enjoyed a hectic schedule in recent weeks - having made her comeback to the music scene on N.E.R.D's single Lemon, their first track in three years, last month.

In a break away from her usual pop style, the beauty is heard rapping on the song, which she has previously done on Kendrick Lemar's track Loyalty, as well as her own hit, B***h Better Have My Money.

Turning her attention to other projects, the beauty also released her own make-up collection Fenty Beauty in September.

According to Women's Wear Daily, the line, which was praised for its diverse range for all skin colours, has already 'earned her a whopping $72 million in media value in one month'.

She also debuted her second apparel collection with Adidas during New York's Fall Fashion Week that month.

As a big fan of fashion herself, Rihanna recently opened up about her own tastes in clothing - and admitted she often struggles to dress her body shape.

Speaking to The Cut, the songstress said: 'I actually have had the pleasure of a fluctuating body type, where one day I can literally fit into something that is bodycon, and then the next day - the next week - I need something oversized.

'I really pay attention every day when I go into the closet about what's working for my body that morning,' she said, adding: 'It's an individual thing.'

She considered: 'If you take it further, it's like: "What week are you having? You having a skinny week? You having a fat week? Are we doing arms this week? We doing legs this week? We doing oversized?"'
