He does his own stunts! Brad Pitt sports astronaut suit as he descends from the sky while shooting parachute scene for his new sci-fi film Ad Astra

He plays an astronaut in his new film Ad Astra.

Brad Pitt was flying high Saturday in LA, where he was seen gliding downwards through parachute while sporting an orange space suit and helmet.

The 53-year-old actor was taking care of his own stunt while shooting the upcoming epic space directed by filmmaker James Gray.

Brad looked ready for lift-off in a bright orange jumpsuit which matched the curve of his parachute.

This make movie magic happen, the Inglorious Basterds actor was connected to a large, mechanical rig which guided the actor down from the sky.

The action was taken by several cameras, including one anchored to a crane and another held by a cameramen on a platform raised high above the ground.

Ad Astra follows Army Corps engineer Roy McBride (Pitt) on an intergalactic search for his father Clifford, who disappeared during a mission to find alien life 20 years ago.

In the film Brad shares the screen with the film vets Tommy Lee Jones and Donald Sutherland, as well as rising star and 2017 Oscar nominee Ruth Negga.

Ad Astra began filming in late August, first taking the secluded desert city of Baker, California to shoot scenes set in space.

In addition to starring in the film, Pitt is also credited as a producer.

Brad has been flying solo since his partner Angelina Jolie filed for divorce on September 19 2016 and took the primary custody of the couple's six children.

Currently, the pair are focusing on co-parenting their brood.

Brad and Angie - who were wed in 2014 - share six children: Maddox, 16, Pax, 13, Zahara, 12, Shiloh, 11, and twins Knox and Vivienne, nine.
