He dropped his single Slow Hands last month, as he continues to carve his solo career followingOne Direction's indefinite hiatus.

And Niall Horan is ensuring he keeps up with his new career move as he upped the style stakes on Thursday, when he was seen out shopping for new gear with his stylist Ellie in Melrose Ave, West Hollywood.

Keeping it casual, the One Direction singer, 24, showcased his edgy look in a form-fitting navy tee teamed with skinny jeans as he joined the style maven.

The Slow Hands hitmaker kept the sun off his face with true street style in a beige fedora hat and accessorised with circular framed sunglasses.

Niall's stylist looked impeccably chic in her thigh-skimming button-down summer dress which she teamed with backless pumps, not needing to add to her height.

On trend as ever, the fashionista wore her brunette locks in a loosely blow dried style and accessorised with sexy shades.

No doubt the shopping trip was a success as both Niall and Ellie carried Ralph Lauren bags to recreate the superstar's new look.

The solo artist later swapped his casual shoes for smart tan boots for his evening out at the Belmont Bar and Restaurant, West Hollywood.

Despite his determination to give his boy-next-door look a makeover, the hunk revealed his solo career will never be as big as his break with One Direction.

He told Zane Lowe in a FaceTime interview with Apple Music's Beat 1: 'I know in my heart of hearts that no matter what any of us do individually it will never be as big as One Direction.

'I have stuff that I want to write about, I have a sound I've got down I think. It's a competitive world out there and if it's a world where I can bring this sort of music out there and be somewhat successful, I'm happy with that.'

One Direction was made up of Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson alongside Niall.

Zayn left the group in March 2015 and the band went on a break the following year in January.
